Anita Sanchez
As a science writer, Anita Sanchez is especially fascinated by plants and animals that no one loves. Her award-winning books sing the praises of unappreciated plants and animals: dandelions, poison ivy, bats, tarantulas. Many years of field work and teaching outdoor classes have given her firsthand experience in introducing students to the terrors and joys of nature. Her books are intended to get readers excited about science and the wonders of the natural world. She loves to adventure in the wilds of the United States as well as visiting remote places around the world--she has ridden camels in the Sahara desert, dived the Great Barrier Reef of Australia, and explored the Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific Her most recent book is Rotten! Vultures, Beetles, Slime, and Nature’s Other Decomposers. (HMHKids) She is currently working on Monkey Business: The Battle Over Evolution in the Classroom, a middle-grade nonfiction book for HMHKids, due in 2022. She is represented by Regina Ryan of Regina Ryan Books. www.anitasanchez.com twitter: @asanchezauthor
